Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Monroe County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you send an email, we keep the message as needed to respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page may cause the servers to record standard technical details about the visit:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Device type and operating system
- The referring website, when available
- Browser name and version
- Time spent on a page
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser settings can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Routing a search query to the selected provider
- Operating the website and maintaining performance
- Measuring which content is useful or needs revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Monroe County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Monroe County sheriff, jailer, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party record or consumer report, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search tools. Information submitted to one of those tools falls under that provider's privacy policy. We do not control its retention or sharing rules, so review the provider's terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Monroe County offices, Kentucky courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising. Their practices are not controlled by this policy.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks placing ads on the website
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information collected by the site. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so a breach-free service cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the law that applies to you. Kentucky public-record access is governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, while public dissemination of Kentucky registry information is addressed in KRS 17.580. Those laws concern government records and registry publication rather than creating a private criminal-record database here. For information this site controls, you may:
- Request deletion of information we control
- Ask what information is held about you
- Object to certain processing where the law permits
- Request correction of inaccurate information
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available on this page with its updated effective date, so review it periodically for changes.
